More than 600 Million Devices Now Run on Windows 10

Microsoft's original goal was to reach 1 Billion devices by 2018

Microsoft is providing its second Windows 10 statistics update this year, announcing that 600 million devices are now running the company’s latest operating system. Back in May, Microsoft had announced that Windows 10 was had crossed the 500 million milestone.

The number includes PCs, tablets, Xbox One consoles, HoloLens headsets, and even Surface Hub devices and phones.

Satua Nadella made the comment at the company’s annual shareholders meeting on Wednesday, according to GeekWire. Microsoft hasn’t officially announced the figure yet to the media.

Terry Myerson, Microsoft’s vice president of operating systems, said he’d hoped to see 1 billion devices within two to three years of the 2015 launch of Windows 10.

Sources told The Verge earlier this year that the new goal was 550M active devices by the end of June and 575M by the end of September.
