Huawei P9 and P9 Plus crosses 10 million shipment globally
Huawei first unveiled P9 and P9 Plus flagships back in April 2016. Till then, both the smartphones made available in US, Europe, China, India and other parts of the world. Unlike previous flagships, Huawei actually went ahead and put marketing muscle behind it. And as a result, both the Leica powered flagships surpasses 10 million shipment milestone before the end of year.
The announcement was made by Huawei’s Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu in a press release today, “First revealed in April 2016, the dual-lens Huawei p9/p9 Plus devices were Huawei’s first flagship smartphones to be developed in collaboration with legendary German camera brand Leica, this extensive partnership has already set a new benchmark for advanced smartphone camera technology and delivered outstanding photography experiences to consumers,” Yu Said.
Both P9 and P9 Plus achieved 2.6 million sales within six weeks of launch. So considering the timeframe, Huawei did manage to keep the steady pace to move both the flagships. Yu shed some light on numbers too. In Q3 2016, the company shipped 33.59 million smartphones, with mid-to-high-end devices contributing about 44% of the shipment. That all results in a healthy growth of 23% YoY.
As Huawei is continuously strengthening brand recognition around the world, we could expect the company to deliver yet another blockbuster performance in 2017.
