Acer Unveils World’s Thinnest Laptop – the Swift 7

Acer has updated its Swift 7 (SF714-51) in time for CES 2018 and given it an even thinner chassis – now just 8.98mm thick (predecessor was 10mm thin). What’s more, Acer has even managed to squeeze in an Intel XMM cellular modem, meaning you have the option of LTE connection on the go!

It offers a 14-inch full HD touch display and up to 10 hours of battery life. With these features, and its all-black aluminum body, the system is aimed at professional users seeking portability. It will be available in March (USA) starting at $1,699.

There’s a seventh generation Core i7 processor along with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of PCIe SSD storage. As of now, there is no higher variant with more RAM or SSD storage available. This is a huge bummer given the fact that competitors do have products offering the same.

Specifications:

  • 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor
  • 256GB of PCIe SSD storage
  • 8GB LPDDR3 memory
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • 14-inch Corning Gorilla Glass touchscreen
  • 1,920×1,080-pixel resolution display
  • Backlit keyboard
  • Up to 10 hours of battery life
  • Windows Hello compatible fingerprint reader
