Android Marshmallow now Powering 15.2 per cent Devices

Android Marshmallow, showing steady growth, is now running on 15.2 per cent devices compared to 13.3 per cent shown in last month. However, it is still way behind KitKat.

For the record, Android KitKat is topping the list with 29.2 per cent market share which is almost twice as Marshmallow’s share. While, Android 5.1 is second on the list, which is currently running on 21.4 per cent devices, increased by 0.6% from the last month.

With most of the devices not getting updates on a regular basis, this scenario doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon. In fact, the Marshmallow didn’t get huge increment this month, compared to the 3.2 percentage increase last month.

Google has released the developer preview of Android N early to help OEMs work on their version faster than before. Also, according to the rumors, its official launch is just around the corner. Other versions of Android are also losing their presence slowly. Surprisingly, Froyo’s 0.1% presence remained unchanged from last month.
