Android Marshmallow now Powering 13.3 Percent Devices

Android Marshmallow, showing steady growth, is now running on 13.3 per cent devices compared to 10 per cent shown in last month. However, it is way behind KitKat and Lollipop.

For the record, Android Lollipop is topping the list with 35.1 per cent market share which is almost thrice as Marshmallow’s share. While, Android KitKat is currently running on 30.1 per cent devices.

With most of the devices not getting updates on a regular basis, this scenario doesn’t seem to change anytime soon. There are still 17.8 per cent devices running on Android Jelly Bean which itself shows the irregularity in updates among Android devices.

Google has released the developer preview of Android N early to help OEMs work on their version faster than before.

The Android Marshmallow count may have increased with newer devices now being launched with it. Even the low budget smartphones are also coming with it latest Marshmallow may have help the count a little.
