CES 2018: Dell unveils new XPS series and Mobile Connect software
Dell usually showcase the popular XPS series of laptops at CES trade show. And this year was no different. The 13-inch version got its share of updates on both internal and external while the 15-inch variant packs the major changes. Let’s look in details.
The XPS 15 is now a 2-in-1 convertible and can be used in four modes. The top variant goes up to Intel i7 Quad Core processors from Santa Clara’s 8th generation of CPUs. Coupled with 8 GB/ 16GB of RAM, the device ensures a smooth performance and multitasking as Dell goes ahead and term it as the most powerful 2-in-1 device out there.
The other specifications include up to 1TB of SSD, full-HD or 4K display, Waves MaxxAudio pro-tuned stereo speakers, maglev keyboard, and an usual port options as before. The device goes on sale in April and the pricing starts from $1399.
The non-convertible XPS 13 gets lighter and quicker. It now features the latest 8th generation of Intel processors and comes with new colour options including White and Rose Gold. The new XPS 13 is already on Dell website and starts at $999.
In a surprise announcement, Dell makes the Mobile Connect software official. Pre-installed on all its 2018 line-up, the software helps Android and iOS users to receive calls, send messages, receive notifications and even mirror the smartphone display directly on their Dell laptop.
