Bezelless Gionee M7 Power launched in India
Another one to the 18:9 party!
Gionee hasn’t had the best time in India. A very convoluted product line, lesser brand recognition, and non-flagship products could be the reasons for that. Now with a focus on the mid-range segment, the Gionee M7 Power is their latest phone to be launched in India, and will be available for sale starting 25 November.
M stands for Marathon, as the M-series of phones have massive batteries
This is the company’s first bezel-less smartphone, sporting a 6″ HD+ display (720*1440). On the inside, it runs on a Snapdragon 435(octacore 1.4 GHz) paired with 4GB Ram. As I have said in the past, a weaker processor is usually a more efficient processor, and this paired with the massive 5,000 mAh battery should give ample juice to last more than a day. There’s 64GB of storage which can further be augmented with a microSD card. The fingerprint scanner is situated on the back, which is made out of series 6000 Aluminium. The cameras are at 13MP and 8MP with features like background blur and group selfies. Sadly it still runs on Android 7.1 with Gionee’s Amigo OS on top.
The phone is priced at 16,999, available both online and offline. There are other schemes from Jio that make the deal sweeter. It’s available in 3 colours viz. Blue, gold and black
