Google to move away from ‘Nexus’ branding

It seems that Google is finally getting serious about whole Nexus program, by removing it completely. According to AndroidCentral, HTC made Nexus phones are indeed coming but with a different branding name and software experience.

As reported by Androidpolice earlier, the new Android launcher on upcoming Nexus phones looks radically different from what we have seen in the past. The settings menu, button layout, color scheme and homescreen all have got fresh paint and added functionality.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai already hinted of some change at this year’s Code Conference back in June, he quoted that “The company is more opinionated about the design of the phones”. There are also reports of Google releasing two Android Wear smartwatches.

So tighten your seat belts guys, the search giant is surely moving towards becoming a bit of hardware company.
