If you've been shifting between Android Pay and Google wallet to make payments via Google, here's some relief. Google Pay is the new unified payment platform for all transactions
Google is finally bringing it’s payment services, Android Pay and Google Wallet, in a package called Google pay. It is the same service under a different name.
If you already have saved all your payment info in Chrome or purchased an app on Google play, the switch will be seamless. As the service is rolled out and adoption increases, you will see an option to pay via Google Pay. Checkout will be effortless. Google pay charges no additional fees.
If you want to use the service right away, it is available on Airbnb, Dice, Fandgango, HungryHouse, and Instacart. For developers, Google has described how to easily get onboard with this shift on this page. You can employ Google Pay along with processor partners currently of which Adyen, Braintree (Native, Web), EBANX, Paysafe, Stripe, Vantiv, and Worldpay have support.
A brief mention was made about bringing this service to Tez; Google’s digital payment service / app for India.
