Google to release Android 7.1 as a dev preview for current Nexus devices before year end

Google Pixels launched with Android 7.1 out of box and we have yet to see a beta version of it for current Nexus devices, let alone the stable version. The company confirmed to release a dev preview of Android 7.1 for current Nexus devices by December 2016, meaning it could arrive on Nexus smartphones sometime around Jan-Feb 2017 timeframe.

Android 7.1 brought the host of new features for Pixel devices including, Google Assistant, dark mode, touch/display performance improvements, Daydream VR mode, App shortcuts and much more.

It’s still unclear that if some features like Google Assistant, Pixel launcher, smart storage are Pixel exclusive or can see the light of day on Nexus devices too.
