HTC U specs and features leaked, reveals every aspect of the device
Now that we are past Samsung and LG’s flagship offerings for 2017, it’s now time for HTC to enjoy the headlines. Last time we reported about rumored Edge sensor feature backed on the sides of the phone. The new info discloses HTC U in every imaginable way. Let’s start with specs.
The spec sheet contains a 5.5-inch QHD display covered in Gorilla Glass 5, Snapdragon 835 processor, 12MP rear camera, 16MP selfie shooter, 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB RAM/ROM combo option, fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button, 3000mAh battery and Android Nougat 7.1 out of box.
The audio/video capabilities indicate HTC’s renewed focus in the area. HTC 10 ditched the famous dual front-facing BoomSound speakers and now it’s making a sort of return in new U series flagship. As shown in the picture, they are located on top and bottom (Not exactly like HTC M9 but I would still take this over M10 or Galaxy S8’s solution).
There are 4 microphones for some sort of 3D audio which is turned on by default and helps to capture surrounding sound and more detailed Hi-Res audio recording option to record a lossless and full range of sound.
The Edge sensor will be present in the lower half of the phone, making it more accessible to our grip. One can launch different apps including Google Assistant and even trigger it to perform specific tasks like launch a camera, take screenshot and more.
HTC U is expected to get an official launch in May and more go on sale sometime in June. Stay tuned for more details.
