Huawei Honor 9 bets big on specs and comparatively less on price tag
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor is known for delivering high specs package at a low-price tag. The recently announced Honor 9 proudly follows the tradition. The device first made an appearance in China and is now getting an official launch across Europe.
The Honor 9 takes cues from its bigger brother P10/P10 Plus and at the same time adds few of its own touches as well. It sports 5.15-inch full-HD display, Huawei’s flagship CPU HiSilicon Kirin 960, 6GB RAM, 128GB of internal storage with micro-SD expansion, 3200mAh battery with USB Type-C fast charging, and Android Nougat based EMIUI 5.1 out of box. The fingerprint scanner sets on the front home button and supports various gestures across UI.
The back is made of dual curved glass, like Galaxy S7 series. The device packs dual rear camera setup with the 12MP+20MP combo. The mechanism works the same as Huawei’s P series. One lens takes monochrome shots while the other on captures photos in colour. The algorithm then merges both photos into single shots and try to deliver the best possible experience. The setup also helps to take better snaps in low-light conditions.
The colour options include Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black and Glacier Grey to choose from. The availability in India is still unknown, we expect the device to launch in the country sometime in August. The European price starts at 449.99 Euro (₹32,750).
