Huawei P9 sales top 6 million in under five months
For Huawei, averaging better than a million sales a month sounds like a pretty good milestone to clutch in September for a smartphone that was launched in April. Growth has been steady since the manufacturer reported its six-week sales figure of 2.6 million for the P9 and P9 Plus.
The company says its customers are praising the smartphone’s built-in “professional photographic effects” like the “artistic black and white images” and the bokeh effect achievable when using the P9’s dual rear camera arrangement developed in partnership with Leica.
Talking about the device itself, the P9 sports some serious power under the hood. It is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor and has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. A 3GB variant is also available with 32GB of internal storage. But hey, the best part of the device are those dual rear facing cameras. These are two 12-megapixel camera sensors which are co-designed with Leica. One of them is the regular conventional unit, and the other one is a monochrome sensor. The performance is simply excellent here when it comes to the camera.
