Apple rolling out fix for iPhone 8 ‘crackling’ sound in iOS Update
Apple said in a statement that the issue only comes up in a “small number” of cases and that the company is working on a software update to fix the problem. “We are aware of the issue which is affecting customers in a small number of cases,” an Apple spokesperson said. “Our team is at work on a fix, which will be included in an upcoming software release.”
Apple has just released a small update to iOS 11 (v11.0.2): a fix for a bug that caused a crackling sound to occur during phone calls. The update is rolling out globally to all iPhone users at the moment.
The iPhone audio problem is the second high-profile glitch to affect Apple’s new line up of products ahead of the holiday season. A bug in the new version of the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE prevents the device from connecting to cellular networks in some instances.
