Lenovo ZUK Z1 with Cyanogen OS Launched at Rs. 13,499
Lenovo has finally launched the Cyanogen-powered ZUK Z1 smartphone today in India. This is the same device that was launched a year ago by the company’s sub-brand ZUK as ZUK Z1 in China and selected international markets without Lenovo branding. While in China, the device runs on in-house ZUI while the international variants run on Cyanogen OS. Now the device launched in India runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop based Cyanogen OS. Although a bit old at this point, considering the phone was announced back in September last year, Lenovo has gone for aggressive pricing, which should make it less of an issue.
The ZUK Z1 has a 5.5-inch 1080p LCD, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage (non-expandable), 13 megapixel rear/8 megapixel front camera, fingerprint sensor, dual SIM support, USB Type-C on USB 3.0, 4100mAh battery, and Cyanogen OS 12.1 running on top of Android Lollipop.
The ZUK Z1 is priced at INR 13,499 and shall be exclusively available on Amazon.in from 19th of May.
This will be the second brand phone to run Cyanogen OS in India, Micromax being the first. Last year, even OnePlus had started selling One with Cyanogen OS pre-installed, but due to exclusive sales rights with Micromax, a court order had temporarily paused the devices sale. Though, this wouldn’t be an issue again.
