LG G5 launched in India, priced at ₹52990
LG Electronics India Limited (LEGIL) launched their flagship phone, G5 on Wednesday. Priced at ₹52,990, the first ever modular smartphone from LG, comes with a sleek metal uni-body featuring a slide out battery, accompanied with LG friends, a collection of companion devices such as LG CAM Plus, LG 360 CAM and LG 360 VR.
The G5 has a modular design that allows you to swap out the base with other attachments, such as the LG CAM Plus camera grip or the LG Hi-Fi Plus module by B&O, the latter of which is not available in India. The Hi-Fi Plus module, co-developed by LG and Bang & Olufsen, is a portable Hi-Fi DAC which can be used as a standalone portable DAC or with the G5 to enable 32-bit audio playback. The company also launched LG 360 VR headset at ₹21,990, and the LG 360 Cam at ₹21,490. No other accessories, such as the LG Rolling Bot, LG Tone Platinum, H3 by B&O Play, and LG Smart Controller were launched alongside. The battery in each of these modules is removable and user replaceable.
G5 also has a 5.3-inch, 1440p display, Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, dual rear camera with 16 megapixel main camera and 8 megapixel wide angle camera, 8 megapixel front camera, Type-C connector, fingerprint sensor, and 2800mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
G5 will be exclusively available on Flipkart. Commenting on the pre-booking response, Ajay Yadav, VP-smartphones, Flipkart said:
