LG set to launch G6 on February 26 at MWC 2017

LG sent out media invites for an official launch of upcoming flagship G6 at MWC 2017. Surprisingly, LG chooses to reveal some details about G6 in the press release.

The G6 will feature 5.7-inch QHD display with unusual 18:9 aspect ratio resulting into 564 PPI. The tagline ‘See More, Play More” perfectly rhythms with a big display with 18:9 ratio.

The company is taunting about new heat pipe design to keep out the warmth from the G6. Normally, we don’t see such info on media invites, but maybe Galaxy Note 7 debacle encouraged LG to brag about safety and quality assurance of G6.

Apart from that, G6 is expected to include new 10-nm based Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB of RAM, dual-camera setup, improved AI, wireless charging, and Android 7.0 with LG’s custom UI on top. Thankfully, modularity won’t make a comeback this year.

With Samsung taking longer than usual time with Galaxy S8, LG has a great chance to capture some healthy initial sales numbers.
