Xiaomi Mi 5 announced in India, available for ₹24,999
Xiaomi has a tradition of surprising us with ridiculously low price to specs ratio for their smartphones, and their latest flagship Mi 5 proudly follows that suit. Today, Xiaomi launched Mi 5 in India with 32GB storage/3GB RAM variant for Rs 24,999.
Announced back at MWC, Mi 5 made big headlines about “Great specs at bargain price” and it surely justifies it. Let’s just rewind a little bit. The 5th generation of Mi consists 5.15 inch, Full HD display with 1920×1080 resolution, resulting 428 PPI and it’s powered by 1.8 GHz/2.15GHz+1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 32GB/64GB/128GB storage (Sorry folks, no micro-SD), 3GB/4GB of RAM and 3,000 mAh sealed battery. It also supports dual SIM and USB-C. The back has 16MP shooter and on the front, the resolution is 4MP. There are actually 3 variants of Mi 5. 32GB/64GB with 3 gigs of ram, in which rear is made of 3D glass and the pro version bumped up storage to 128GB and throw extra RAM with ceramic material on back. But, here is a bummer, only 32GB variant will make its way for India. No words on other models as of now.
After a quiet 2015, Xiaomi is heavily banking on latest Mi 5 to cover up the ground. So, what do you think? Can Mi 5 put them back on track in India? Will the decision to not bring 64 GB variant hurt them? Sound off in comments about your opinion. The sale will start on 6th of April at Mi.com
