Microsoft’s HoloLens project hit a speed bump by a lawsuit
Microsoft’s ambitious AR project ‘HoloLens’ gets a setback over patent infringements. HoloLens is Microsoft’s entry in Augmented Reality space and is being slowly adopted by enterprise and businesses.
Apparently, the Connecticut based company named HoloTouch claims Microsoft knowingly used two of its patents relating to holographic imaging tech. HoloTouch reportedly tried to contact Microsoft over possible agreements on the use of tech and got no response at all.
After a consecutive failed attempts in 2015 and then in 2016, HoloTouch decided to file a lawsuit and is seeking a jury trial and triple damages from Microsoft. There is no official response from Microsoft.
