Here is what’s new in MIUI 8
Xiaomi, today officially unveiled their Marshmallow-flavored MIUI 8. They have already released the beta ROMs of MIUI 8 with some new features and some changes.
The latest update brings a slew of new features such as new animations, a brand new font, and a palette of new colors. Xiaomi has also introduced a dual-space optimization feature that allows users to create separate spaces for different accounts with different passwords and create virtually dual space for the two accounts within the device. It is almost akin to having two different smartphones in one with their own gallery, own apps and everything you can imagine.
It also comes with dual Apps feature which will allow you to clone any App and thus use two different accounts in one phone. There is also a new feature called Quick ball, allowing easy access to 5 functions. The caller ID feature will replace unknown numbers with right caller ID.
Other notable features include the ability to capture more than what you see on the screen area in one screenshot and the Gallery app has picked up some more photo and even video editing capabilities. MIUI 8 also comes with a built-in scanning feature that can read QR codes and business cards. Lastly, there’s a power saving mode that freezes background app activity to prolong your phone’s battery life.
MIUI 8 will be available for Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Note, Mi Max 32GB, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 3G, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note Prime, Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 3.
