Razer phone specs leak, hours before the unveil

Is there a market for Gaming smartphones?

The NextBit Robin was a very intriguing phone. It might not have the best specs of its time, but it was a breath of fresh air, in the slew of other phones in the yesteryear. Though, they were soon bought by Razer, the computer gaming brand. This was an unexpected move, but definitely not uninvited. Fast-forward to almost a year after the Robin, we have the ‘Razer phone’ launching tonight, and here are the leaked specs of Razer’s debut in the smartphone industry.

Alleged Specifications

3G UK outed these specs, before the page was taken down.

The design shown here look rather similar to the Robin, with a squared design and big bezels on the top and bottom, which hopefully will house front-firing stereo speakers. The display is supposed to be of IGZO technology, which means very low power consumption, high color accuracy and a slimmer profile, and a surprisingly high 120Hz refresh rate. No other phone on the market has a display of more than 60Hz (The latest iPad pro is the only other mobile device to have a 120Hz display) which should bolster gaming and fluidity. The cameras also get a boost, with a dual lens setup on the back, with a wide f1.75 aperture. Internally, this should house the Snapdragon 835 with 8Gb Ram, sure to give an amazing performance. The battery life should be way above average, with there being a 4000mAh pack inside. Though, it needs to be mentioned that the original Robin had subpar battery life, which we hope isn’t true for this device…. There’s also Qualcomm QC4+, giving 50% refill in just 15 minutes!

Personally, this is a very exciting device for me, as 2 daring companies try to revive the gaming smartphone market, and both of these have been my favourites at one point. Here’s the event page to see the live stream.

The event starts in India on 2nd November 2017, at 0130hours, and we will be covering it Live!
