Nokia 6 (2018) Launched with Snapdragon 630 and 4GB of RAM

It’s just the first week of 2018 and HMD Global has already announced the 2018 version of Nokia 6. It has a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, is powered by Snapdragon 630 mobile platform, runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), which is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo), has a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, dual-tone LED flash, and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

This time, it is 4GB of RAM that is included in the phone and there will be variants with 32GB and 64GB storage options. A MicroSD card slot will allow the storage expansion by another 128GB.

There is 4G VoLTE support and the other connectivity options include WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 5, GPS, and USB Type-C that is another change from the predecessor. Weighing 172 grams, the Nokia 6 (2018) has a metal body and it houses a 3000 mAh battery with the fast charging support.

On paper, the 2018 version of the Nokia 6 is nearly identical to its predecessor, with only a few tweaks such as the chipset and some trickle-down features like the “bothie” from the Nokia 7 and 8. The fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back and it also gets rid of the capacitive touch buttons on the front in favor of on-screen buttons.

The Nokia 6 (2018) comes in Black and Silver colors, priced in China at 1499 yuan (US$ 230 approx. / ₹14,655 approx.) for the 32GB storage version and the 64GB storage version costs 1699 yuan (US$ 262 approx. / ₹16,610 approx.). There’s no word yet on a global / international version, but if last year’s Nokia 6 is any indicator, one can be expect it to launch in other countries like USA and India soon.
