Note Brand here to stay, Note 8 to come in H2 2017
Note 7 fiasco is one of the most sought debacle in the industry, with numerous firms trying hard to find the reason behind it. Many thought that Samsung will ditch the Note lineup all together and instead focus on the S series. The damage has been done. The long loved Note lineup did take a hit, but the negative effects weren’t much with critics hailing the Note 7 as the best device of 2016.
An “official from the electronics industry” said that, due to the popularity of the Note 7 before the phones started exploding, Samsung will release the new Note in the latter half of this year. Of course, the name is assumed to be the Galaxy Note 8.
According to one of Samsung’s partners, the Note 8 is going to have a 4K screen for an improved VR experience, better stylus support, enhanced security for the Iris authentication technology, and the new AI assistant named Bixby (which will likely be introduced with the S8/S8 Edge).
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics will release the results of the Galaxy Note7 fire investigation by the end of this month. It is rumored that the root cause of the fire is not a simple battery problem but it is an electronic hardware design problem.
