Note 8 to be launched in August & other rumours

After the Note 7 Debacle, the future of the Note Series was shrouded in clouds of doubt. But now we know for a fact that the Note 8 will be released this year. Just recently a Samsung Executive told to the Korean Media that

Earlier, famous leakster, Evan Bliss reported that the Note 8 would be launched in the second part of September. Even SamMobile claimed that the phone would be launched at IFA in September. But it’s very likely that the phone will launch in August only.

The Note 8 would be launched in New York in the second half of August.

The Note 8 is expected to sport s very similar build of the one found in the S8+.

The QuadHD infinity edge display with an 18.5:9 aspect ratio will be a sure addition to the Note 8.  According to latest rumours, the Note 8’s display will measure at 6.3-6.4 inch.

The phablet is most likely to be powered by Snapdragon 835 (slim chances of it having the 836) and coupled with either 4 or 6GB RAM. It’s also expected to have a dual-camera setup which has not yet made it to any of Samsung’s top-end phones. It will also have an 8MP snapper on the front.

True to the Note Series, the 8 will also be equipped with the S Pen and a slew of multi-tasking features to accompany it. The phone is expected to pack a 3,500 mAh battery at least. Interestingly, the phone is also rumoured to be IP68 certified which will make it dust and water resistant. In terms of storage, 64GB &, 128GB will be the standard options with a choice to expand up to 256GB via a MicroSD Card.

The Note 8 has the future of the Note series riding on it. Success of this phone will pretty much decide the future of the mobile industry and Samsung’s position in it. It’ll also be interesting to see how the Note 8 will compete with the upcoming iPhone that will be launched in September.
