Note8 pre-orders selling faster than any other Note device
The Note brand is still going strong despite Samsung recalling and discontinuing Note 7 devices last year for battery explosions. The company today announced that more customers in the US have preordered the Note8 than any other Notes it has ever sold in previous years during the same time period.
Once recalls were put in place for the Note 7 about a month after it first went on sale in 2016, there were 1 million devices that had to be returned. Trust factor in the Note lineup had taken a massive beating, but seems like Samsung’s commitment to safe devices and better part of marketing has helped them keep the Note lineup alive and healthy. It’s also worth pointing that Note8 is one of the only advanced devices in market to sport a Stylus. The S Pen has a huge number of fans who loved the Note 7 but had to part ways.
“We’re thrilled to see the strong consumer response to the next level Note,” Samsung exec Tim Baxter said in a statement.
Samsung explains, “more people in the U.S. have purchased the Galaxy Note8 than previous Samsung Note phones during the same time period.
Samsung has been running many promotions that could be driving the pre-orders, such as the bundling of things like a 360 camera, micro SD card, or wireless charging pad Note 8 preorders went live on August 24th and the device is one of Samsung’s most expensive smartphones to date, starting at $930. The Note8 will be available in retail stores starting September 15.
