OnePlus 5 with dual-cameras picture leaked; Might ditch its affordable price tag

Just recently OnePlus announced the release date of OnePlus 5 a couple of weeks ago. And after a few leaked design sketches and sketchy pictures of apparent prototypes we might have an actual look at what the OnePlus 5 might look like.

Android Authority managed to get a photo of a prototype of the OnePus 5 from its source. Since it’s a prototype the OnePlus 5 may not necessarily look like this but it  definitely helps us in giving a fair insight on the design philosophy of the next flagship from OnePlus.

Judging from the leaked picture, the phone looks really similar to the OnePlus 3/3T with the metal chassis and the antenna lines on its back.

But the one thing that glaringly strikes out is the dual-camera on the back. OnePlus is also jumping on the dual-camera bandwagon along with heavy-weights like the LG G6, iPhone 7 Plus and also apparently the ‘yet-to-be-released’ Samsung Galaxy Note 8.

The phone also doesn’t seem to have a fingerprint scanner on the back and OnePlus might stick with the front implementation in the home button.

OnePlus 5 Price

The same source also talked about a purported increase in the price tag of the OnePlus 5.This time around the phone is expected to use more expensive components like the Snapdragon 835, 8GB of RAM, dual-cameras etc. which will push the cost for OnePlus. The higher price, apparently, is also attributed to the design of the phone.

The phone could be priced as high as $650.

Considering the price, this might be a setback for OnePlus loyalists who have always rooted for OnePlus’s affordability. But OnePlus is also known to offer the best bang-for-buck than most other OEMs out there. So maybe the price hike could be justified when OnePlus official unveils its next beast.
