OnePlus One bursts into flames while charging

A OnePlus One user from India tweeted images and videos of his OnePlus One burnt out of shape, after it burst into flames while charging.

Just yesterday reports of a  Galaxy Note 7 exploding while charging with MicroUSB to USB Type-C adapter came up from China. But from the images posted by the OnePlus One user on Twitter, the device was charging using the OnePlus provided MicroUSB cable. In just two hours after the device is plugged into the power outlet, the user said to see the flames coming out of the device.

OnePlus India’s statement on the issue: “Our top priority is the health and safety of our customers. We are confident in the quality of our products, which all undergo industry-leading safety tests. We are already in touch with this customer, but since this is an open case, we cannot disclose any further information.”

The device is now handed over to the OnePlus Service Center, and they are offering Mr. Gosain a OnePlus 3 as replacement. However, he has demanded monetary compensation.
