OnePlus may replace current flagship with newer model, LCD panel and Snapdragon 821 on-board

Galaxy Note 7 is done and dusted. Google’s Pixels are underwhelming and over-priced. This two factors can result in a sudden surge in other manufacturer’s flagships. LG already made plans to release V20 in as many markets as possible (including India). And now it seems OnePlus is also taking advantage of this situation but in a different way.

According to GizmoChina, OnePlus may ditch current model in favour of OnePlus 3S. The report cites that the company is already experiencing a delay in AMOLED panels and that results in 3-4 weeks of shipping time to consumer, which of course is unacceptable. So the newer model, 3S or OnePlus 3 Plus, whatever its called, can replace AMOLED panel with LCD one. Well, that sounds like a downgrade. And OnePlus wants to make up for it by powering it with latest available and more powerful Snapdragon 821 SoC. Happy?

Interested? Do you think OnePlus can lure some consumers with refreshed model? Sound off in comments.
