OnePlus’s silence over Nougat Update for OnePlus 2 disappoints consumers

After Nougat was launched in August of last year, OnePlus was one of the first companies to promise an update for it’s then flagship OnePlus 3 and the former flagship, OnePlus 2.

Fast forward to April of 2017, the OnePlus 3 and 3T now run on the latest Android 7.1.1 whereas the OnePlus 2 is still stuck with Marshmallow.
OnePlus users have now become restless which has also been the cause for a lot of threads requesting Android Nougat for the phone on OnePlus forums. Some users have also launched campaigns to get them to release the update.

Recently, Antutu benchmarks of the OnePlus 2 running Nougat leaked which suggests that the update is not that far.

In the future OnePlus should be more transparent about it’s update schedule to bereave users of long anxious waiting periods.
