Oppo F3 launched with Dual 16MP Front Cameras at Rs 19,990 : First Impressions
With the rising importance of selfies amongst the youngsters, Oppo has no left stone unturned to cater to this market with its selfie-focused smartphones. Barely a couple of months of Oppo F3 Plus being launched, Oppo unveiled its latest offering – Oppo F3.
The Oppo F3 is a stripped down version of the F3 Plus but retains its focus on the front-facing dual camera setup.
The F3 has 16 MP dual cameras on the front, one for normal selfies and another wide-angle lens for ‘Group Selfies’ whereas it has a 13MP sensor on the back. It also comes with various camera features, including the proprietary Beautify 4.0 app, Selfie Panorama, Screen Flash, and Palm Shutter.
Design language of the Oppo F3 is pretty much in line of what you would expect from Oppo with a sleek metal unibody with thin bezels. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the capacitive home button on the front which is said to unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds. In our time with it, it actually was pretty quick and accurate in recognizing fingerprints.
The Oppo F3 has a smaller 5.5″ FullHD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The screen gets plenty bright and the colours are vibrant. It is powered by a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T6 octa-core SoC coupled with Mali-T860 GPU. On the memory front it boasts of 4GB RAM and 64GB of ROM. The phone’s battery capacity is 3200 mAh, down from 4000 mAh on the F3 Plus. Unfortunately, it still retains the microUSB port.
The phone still runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 with Oppo’s Color OS 3.o on top. It comes with a feature called Clone Apps which allows you to run dual instances of the same application independently. This implies that one can use two different WhatsApp numbers on the same phone. Talking about two different numbers, this phone comes with three card slots, 2 of which support 4G sim cards with VoLTE and the 3rd one for microSD storage (upto 128GB).
The phone is priced at Rs 19,990 and comes in gold and a special black version signifying Oppo’s partnership with the Indian Cricket Team. Three lucky people who pre-order their phone between 4th and 12th May will get a chance to watch the ICC Finals in London. The phone starts shipping from the 13th of May via Flipkart.
