Oppo and Vivo edges out Xiaomi and Huawei for top spots in China

China is world’s biggest smartphone market and probably the most inconsistent one. Xiaomi and Huawei’s dominance finally came to an end as Oppo and Vivo took over in latest Counterpoint Research report of previous quarter.

The report suggests that Oppo and Vivo are battling neck-to-neck with 16.6 and 16.2 percent market-share respectively in July-September quarter. The previous year’s figures stood at 9.9 and 8.2 percent. Some healthy gain indeed. And from whom, unsurprisingly Xiaomi and Huawei.

Huawei claims number 3 spot with 15 percent market-share, while Xiaomi’s fall continuous with 10.6 percent of market, down from 14.6 percent during the same period last year. Xiaomi and Huawei are already gearing up with powerful Mate 9 and Mi Note 2 offerings. Let’s see how it all pans out before year end.
