Pixel and Pixel XL leaks: Images Possible Pricing and more
Recently, the photos featuring both Pixel and Pixel XL have surfaced. The images show front and back of both phones side-by-side.
Apparently, the phones can be seen in an aluminum finish. Looking at the rear panel, the top portion is made of glass. There’s also a fingerprint sensor. And on the front, Pixel will be featuring a 5-inch display, while the Pixel XL will come with a 5.5-inch display.
According to some sources, the Pixel (5-inch Pixel) will come with a base price of $649. Also, Google’s Daydream view headset will be available for these phones priced at around $80. There will be accidental damage coverage plus another tear of warranty for both the phones – $99 for Pixel and $119 for Pixel XL. Google will also be selling a range of clear and colored cases for both the phones.
Google’s Nexus phones have always been developer friendly and priced reasonably well over the years. However, this type of pricing is a clear indicator that the company is looking to redefine their smartphone lineup by not just changing the name but also pitting it against other premium flagships like Galaxy S7 Edge and iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.
Pixel and Pixel XL will be sold on Google stores. Although, Verizon is the exclusive retail partner. Both the phones will come in three colors – blue, aluminum, and black. The official launch is expected to be on October 4th.
