Report: More than 20 Million S8 Units have been Shipped Worldwide
A new report from South Korea suggests that global shipments of Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and S8+ flagships have surpassed the 20 million mark. On Average, Samsung shipped 278,800 Galaxy S8 models on a daily basis since their release and has surpassed the 20 million mark in early July, Strategy Analytics said.
Reportedly, Samsung’s mobile division chief DJ Koh also confirmed that things are going pretty well, with cumulative sales of the 2017 flagship duo being 15% higher than that of its Galaxy S7 predecessors within three months since their respective release dates. Some industry watchers were previously speculating that the Galaxy S8 series is selling worse than the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge did.
The S8 and S8+ have received worldwide acclaim for it’s new and futuristic design. Though these are the number of units shipped and not sold, it’s safe to say that the demand is high. Samsung this week also released one of it’s best ever financial quarter, thought much of the credit for it goes to the component manufacturing businesses. Samsung has also continued being the world’s largest smartphone maker for yet another quarter.
