Launch imminent: S8 Active receives FCC certification

After every year’s flagship S series launch, we see the rugged and durable “Active” version come out. And it seems, this year is going to be no different. Almost 4 months after the launch of the S8 and the S8+, we are now getting more about the upcoming S8 Active.

Like each year, this model will be a lot more rugged (almost like you have a case on it) and durable, with a giant battery. It’s not going to be the pretty piece that the S8 series is. Color should be a camo print, or shades with a camo design. The display won’t have curves but will stick to the new Infinity Display, though the exact resolution could change. Better waterproofing and drop resistance should also be making the cut. And yes, a much bigger battery. Expect it to be rated at around 4,000 mAh in capacity.  S8 Active FCC

It seems that this will also be an AT&T exclusive with limited availability.  A couple of weeks back, it got its wifi certification and now, it cleared the FCC. It’s the phone I look forward to each year, as soon as the new S series is announced. Sadly, I will need to move to The States if I want it….
