Samsung edges past Fitbit to become the second largest wearable vendor in the world
The Q1 2017 data for the wearable market is in. And surprisingly Samsung beats Fitbit to grab the second spot with 12.8 percent of share. Fitbit moves at 3rd position with a distinct 12.2% of market share.
Surely, the Gear S3 which was launched in September 2016 helped Samsung to improve its position. The Tizen-based smartwatch got the positive response from critics as well as the consumers.
Apple remains at the top with a huge 53% of a wearable market. With an absence of any new product in Q2, it will be interesting to see how these companies perform ahead in 2017.
