Samsung Galaxy J2 (2016) and Galaxy J Max launched in India

Samsung Galaxy J2 (2015) was one of the best selling smartphone in India last year. It really helped the Korean giant to regain its foothold in country. Today, Samsung has launched the updated version of Galaxy J2 with some beefed up specs and ‘Made for India’ feature for Rs 9,750. Along the side, the company also brings a gigantic 7 inch Galaxy J Max for multimedia lovers for Rs 13,400. Let’s dive into specs.

Galaxy J2 (2016)

The updated Galaxy J2 spots 5 inch HD display with super AMOLED technology. It is powered by a quad core Spectrum processor with 1.5 GB of RAM for smooth multitasking. Unfortunately, this year’s Galaxy J2 still comes with 8 GB of on board storage with a option to expand it up to 128 GB via Micro-SD slot. The photography is handled by 8 MP of rear camera and 5 MP selfie shooter. A  welcome change compared to 2015’s 5 MP/2 MP combo.

Galaxy J2 is kept awake by  2,600 mAh battery juice. It runs on Android Marshmallow out of box. The connectivity options include all the basics like 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC and GPS. Some ‘Made for India’ features include S-Bike mode, which was originally introduced with Galaxy J3 earlier this year and ‘Turbo Speed technology’ which aims to improve the launch time of native apps. Samsung claims it to be better than phones with 3 GB RAM.

Smart Glow Notifications brings a new edition to Samsung smartphones. It’s a ring around the back camera which notifies the users about unread messages and missed calls.

Samsung Galaxy J2 will be available both online and offline channels starting from July 10.

Galaxy J Max

Just as name, Galaxy J Max sports a big 7 inch HD screen with same 1.5 GHz Spectrum processor with 1.5 GB of RAM. The build in storage stands at 16 GB with Micro-SD slot. Other specs include 8 MP/2 MP camera combo, 4000 mAh battery and an unacceptable Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of box. Connectivity options and ‘Made for India’ features are the same as Galaxy J2 (2016).

The Galaxy J Max will deepen your pockets by Rs 13,400. It will be available in black and gold colour options starting from July 14.
