The Galaxy Note 7 boasts Samsung’s industry leading 5.7 inch QHD SAMOLED display with 2560×1440 resolution resulting into mind-boggling 518 pixels per inch (PPI). The device is powered by Snapdragon 820 (Sorry folks, no 821 here. But, it’s totally understandable as Qualcomm just announced it last month and for a product as large scale as Note 7, Samsung didn’t have enough time to test) or home based Exynos 8890 octa core processor depending upon the region. 4 GB of RAM is on board too. The base storage starts at 64 GB of storage which can be further expanded via Micro-SD expansion. The battery capacity stands at 3,500 mAh in a sealed glass back and supports fast charging technology too.

Like its S7 siblings, the Note 7 is water-dust resistant and has expandable storage, with a MicroSD card slot hiding in the top edge. It’s got the same 12-megapixel camera that beats the pants off the iPhone 6s camera in low light. The battery is 17% larger than its predecessor’s.

In Camera department, the Galaxy Note 7 borrows the same excellent 12 MP shooter from Galaxy S7. The f/1.7 aperture helps to capture more lighting under dark situations. Selfie shooter is also same 5 MP with wide angel lens that fits more objects in a single click.

The most boggling feature on the Note 7 is its infrared scanner that can log into your smartphone by scanning your eyeballs. Samsung sees this as an added security layer on the Note 7. To take advantage of the retina scanning, it’s even added a new application, Secure Folder, that requires a retina scan if you want to access it.

The S Pen has been upgraded this year with water resistance, a finer point, and twice as fine pressure sensitivity (4096, to be precise). There are a  handful of new software features for the S Pen, including a magnifying loupe, quick text translation tool, and a new tool that makes it easy to create GIFs from any video that’s currently playing.

The pre-orders starts on August 22 and it will be available to buy from September 2nd. Those who pre-order can get new improved Samsung Gear VR for Rs 1,999 and are also eligible for Reliance Jio preview offer which includes 3 months of unlimited calls, texts and 4G data.
