Samsung Galaxy Note 7 might be the smartphone to beat in H2 2016
While we are still few days away from the official Galaxy Note 7 launch, the rumor mill around it isn’t stopping anytime soon. So, if the latest leaks from talkandroid are true, Samsung might have another winner in its hands.
According to talkandroid’s source, which they claim to be a genuine Note 7 user, Samsung next generation phablet will boast a 5.7 inch QHD Gorilla Glass 5 equipped display with dual curved edges. But make no mistake, here the edges are similar to what we have found on BlackBerry Priv’s display, a tonned down version of S7’s curves.
Now, let’s talk about the similarities with Galaxy S7. Note 7 is said to include 4 GB of RAM, 12MP/5MP camera combo and water-dust resistance even when using the S-Pen (Great!). It will also come with 64 GB of base storage, ditching the traditional 32 GB number found in previous Galaxies.
Galaxy Note 7 is also said to include first ever USB Type-C connector for a Samsung device, but the tech giant doesn’t want to disappoint early Galaxy owners and that’s why they are going to include Type C to micro-USB adapters in the box.
Iris scanner is on board too. Samsung will use two front facing camera with Infrared Technology for a quick eye scan even in dark light. New Gear VR will also see the light of a day but it won’t work with previous Galaxies (Due to Type-C compatibility).
Now for battery woes, Samsung has two ways to increase the battery life. First, the Note 7 will be thicker than its predecessor to include more battery juice and second Samsung will give an option to downgrade screen resolution to 720p, which of course is more battery friendly.
The main USP of Note series have been its stylus. The S-Pen is going to get added capabilities like a magnifying glass and a translator. Samsung’s Always On Display will support the S-Pen for instant note taking that debuted last year with Note 5.
The Galaxy Note 7 will come in four different colours – Black, Silver, Blue and Gold. Stay tuned for the more details on 2nd August.
So, are you excited for Note 7? It seems the tech giant has checked every box with its upcoming phablet. With this specs and features, Samsung is just going to increase woes for competitors.
