Samsung Galaxy S7 Duo Sales Cross 55 Million Units
The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge have been very popular among consumers. According to a report from Strategy Analytics, the combined sales of the two smartphones reached 55 million units at the end of the first quarter of 2017. The first quarter of the ongoing year saw the South Korean tech giant selling 7.2 million Galaxy S7/S7 edge units, the report noted.
In total, Samsung sold 92.8 million handsets in the January-March period, of which 80 million were smartphones. With this, the company managed to capture 23% share of the global smartphone market.
The sales numbers of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are high, but those of the Galaxy S8 series are expected to be even higher. The S8 has been critically acclaimed by experts as well as the consumers. Even after the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung’s reputation or brand seems to have taken least damage.
Even if the Galaxy S7 has perhaps not exceeded the S5 or S4 yet, it’s still got time, as long as Samsung continues to push attractive promotions and deal sweeteners. In developing countries, even older flagships like S6 are selling well due to competitive pricing and existing inventory.
