Samsung to start Android Nougat beta testing for Galaxy S7/S7 Edge users from 9 November

Samsung usually remains mum about its update plans for Galaxy flagships. That all changed with last year’s beta program for Galaxy S6 users. Following the same pattern, the company announced to start a similar program for Galaxy S7/S7 users starting 9th November.

Galaxy S7 and S7 users from US, South Korea, UK and China will be eligible to taste Nougat goodies from November 9. Oddly, unlocked models from US aren’t included in the list while all the four carrier branded phones can join Nougat party.

We expect the new UI to be identical to what we have seen on Galaxy Note 7, which of course is a welcome change. Android Nougat’s arrival for other Galaxy S7 users in the stable form is still unknown but normally Samsung takes some time and should be available by Q1 2017.
