Samsung unveils its QLED TVs in India with a free S8 for grabs
The Samsung QLED TVs first introduced at MWC earlier this year have made their way to India. QLED stands for Quantum Dot LED and can be considered an upgrade over the current Super Ultra HD technology available.
Quantum dots are tiny particles, a million times smaller than the diameter of a human hair, which when exposed to blue light emit different colours brightly. This technology was fused with the currently available LED technology by Samsung to give birth to QLED TVS.
They express accurate colours and achieve 100% colour volume – highest in the market today.
These QLED TVs bring with themselves 4 global-first innovations to life. They express accurate colours and achieve 100% colour volume – highest in the market today. The QLED TV’s advanced HDR 2000 functionality allows users to see every hidden with no loss or distortion of colour. In addition, QLED TVs rich, deep black levels and bold contrast provide a consistent viewing experience regardless of a room’s lighting, claims Samsung.
The TVs sport an almost bezel-less display and come with a ‘One Remote Control’ which can control most connected TV devices with just one remote control along with voice control capabilities.
Samsung also introduced the ‘No Gap wall-mount’ which brings the TV flush against the wall. To make the most out of this, Samsung showcased its newest innovation – ‘The Frame’. Usually when TVs are switched off they fade to black, but these QLED TVs will transform the TV into a work of art, letting users select from a collection of more than 100 art pieces.
Samsung’s all-new Invisible Connection cable helps manage unsightly cords and clutter with a refined, single cord system with which consumers can now design their space with a single optical cable that brings all devices together.
QLED TVs will be launched in three series, Q9, Q8 and Q7, in 55 inches (138 cm), 65 inches (163 cm), 75 inches (189 cm) and 88 inches (223 cm), starting May 2017. QLED TVs will be priced between INR 3,14,900 and INR 24,99,900 in India. Customers who pre-order their QLED TVs between May 2 and May 21 can avail the special pre-book offer of a free Samsung Galaxy S8+ (Gold).
