Samsung upgrades Galaxy A series with improved camera, IP68 certification and more

Update: Both the Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 are now available to pre-order in India. The pricing starts at Rs 28,990 for A5 and Rs 33,490 for the Galaxy A7.

Samsung has a habit of borrowing some of Galaxy S-series features to its mid-range Galaxy A series. 2016 version of Galaxy A series mimics the look and feel of metal cladded Galaxy S6. The newly updated Galaxy A3, A5, and A7 follows the tradition and steal some of Galaxy S7’s aspects.

As the name suggests, Galaxy A3 sports 4.7-inch 720p display, A5 comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p panel and A7 with a 5.7-inch 1080p screen. The smallest one come with 2GB RAM, 16GB memory, and a 1.6GHz processor, while the A5 and A7 rocks 3GB RAM, 32GB memory and a CPU clocked at 1.9GHz.

All three phones come with 3D rear mounted glass similar to Galaxy S7, water and dust resistance capabilities and USB Type-C. The A5 and A7 also get extra functionalities. Both the Galaxy come with Samsung’s Fast Charging technology and 16MP rear/front camera with superior low-light performance and improved autofocus.

Samsung says the handsets will be available in Russia first. Other region availability and pricing are still unknown.
