Sony to Focus on Premium Segment in India

Sony as company is doing quite well. They even posted a surprising net profit in latest quarter. But, the mobile division is where Sony’s numbers are unsatisfying. Well, Sony already announced to defocus in certain markets including India, Brazil, US and China. The first glimpse of this move just starts showing in India.

Xperia India’s business head Mr. Vijay Singh confirmed the news of Sony’s exit in entry level and low range smartphone category. He further added “Sony Mobile drove transformation in FY15 towards a profitable and sustainable company globally including the areas mentioned. As part of our transformation, we are sharpening our focus on select products and sales channels”

The company hopes to further enhance their presence in market. But with recent moves and horrible pricing strategy, we doubt they can make a dent in Apple and Samsung’s premium hold on Indian market.
