UPI Payments Now Supported on Samsung Pay in India

Samsung has started rolling a new update to its mobile payments service, Samsung Pay in India. Weighing in at 84MB, the update brings along a major feature: support for Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

UPI is a payment system that integrates instant fund transfer between bank accounts into a single mobile application. With UPI support, Samsung Pay users can now make payments using their bank accounts. Samsung had announced support for UPI and Paytm integration at the time of its official India launch on March 22.

Integration through Samsung Pay means users can send money to others through the Samsung Pay app, and also request money from others and pay at merchants and retailers.
