‘Video Calling’ finally arrives on WhatsApp with latest Android beta update

Popular messaging app WhatsApp today added Video Calling feature to its latest beta build for Android. Recently, it was included in newest Windows phone app and now it’s available for Android users to try out.

If you are a beta tester, just upgrade your version to 2.16.318. The usability is simple. Tap on call button and two options will be shown as ‘Voice call’ and ‘Video call.’ Remember, the other person should also have the latest build available.

If you are not a beta user, you can join the program through the Play Store. Visit the app in Play Store, scroll down and add yourself as a beta tester, give it a few minutes and the new update with Video Call functionality will be ready to serve you.

So, what about quality? Well, as with every beta testing, there are some bugs that need to be iron out before the official release. One issue we found was occasional crashing of WhatsApp during video calls. Give it a try. Sound off in comments with your experience.
