Vivo Launches Matte Black V5 Plus Limited Edition in India

In January, Vivo launched the high-end Vivo V5 Plus smartphone in India. It came with the dual-lens selfie camera on the front for capturing high quality selfies and also offers DSLR-like bokeh effect. It is currently retailing at Rs. 27,980 and is available across India via offline retail stores. Today, the company unveiled the Vivo V5 Plus IPL Limited Edition smartphone in Hyderabad. FYI, Vivo is also the title sponsor for the Indian Premier League (IPL), and the new limited edition devices mark the 10th anniversary of IPL which starts from April 5th.

Available in a special matte black color, the limited edition smartphone sports an engraved Vivo IPL logo at the back. There’s a cricket-focused theme with a Vivo IPL logo that will also be available for other latest Vivo smartphones.

Apart from the new color options, there are no changes on the specifications side. It features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display that comes protected with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Under the hood is the 64-bit Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. There is also 64GB internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128GB via MicroSD card slot. The V5 Plus runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with FunTouch UI on top. The latest Android 7.0 Nougat update can’t be expected anytime soon.

The limited edition smartphone will be available from 10th April on Flipkart, modern trade outlets and Vivo exclusive stores only.
