A Watch Running Windows 10 is Coming Soon
OEM partner Trekstor working on a Business Focused Wearable
Microsoft called off it’s plan to introduce Band 3, successor of Band 2 which ran on Windows 10 IoT Core, but one of it’s Partner hasn’t. Trekstor, an OEM offering a wide range of products in the areas of electronic entertainment and information technology, is introducing a new Windows 10 IoT Core based B2B commercial-grade wearable for the Industry.
According to Microsoft, more information will be available “in the coming months. Though, it will include storage space, processing power, and battery life to perform line-of-business functions. The device will incorporate a 1.54 inch display along with Gorilla Glass 3 and a soft casing. It will allow users to message “silently in real time or verbally via voice messages.”
The TrekStor IoT wearable would be cloud connected and be able to run Universal Windows Applications. It would be as secure and manageable like any other Windows device and leverage Microsoft Azure Cloud services like Microsoft Cognitive Services.
The compact and intuitive wearable aims to replace a larger hand-held device in multiple line-of-business scenarios including:
- Inventory management in retail
- Building automation for guest services in hospitality
- Industrial automation in manufacturing
- Patient care in healthcare
- And several cross-industry scenarios like asset management, fleet management, and others.
