Xiaomi crosses $1 Billion revenue milestone in India

Xiaomi India head Manu Jain revealed some interesting numbers for the company’s performance in the country. In a Facebook post, Mr. Jain said that Xiaomi reached $1 Billion revenue in India. It’s impressive considering the company has been doing business in the country for last two years only.

Jain claimed that Xiaomi was one of top smartphone vendors during Q3. Adding to that, Redmi Note 3 demand remains consistent throughout 2016, resulting into 2.3 million sales since the initial launch. It’s very remarkable as Redmi Note 3 was never sold offline and only through online channels. As a result, the budget offering remains top selling smartphone sold online.

Other budget performers like Redmi 3S and Prime 3S also continue to be popular among the young audience. With the help of these three, Xiaomi becomes the top selling smartphone company during Flipkart Big Billion Day Sale and Amazon Great Indian Shopping festival.

What are your thoughts about Xiaomi’s performance in India? Do you think the Chinese company can retain the same success in 2017 too? Sound off in comments section below.
