Xiaomi hires a third party organization to investigate battery explosion issue

It seems like a season for battery explosions for Android manufacturers. After Samsung’s infamous Note 7 recall, Xiaomi too is having some problems with similar incidents.

The recently unveiled Mi Max and a year old Mi 4c both exploded due to battery heating problems. And unlike Samsung, Xiaomi is operating in only handful of countries so it’s much easier for them to investigate the problem properly. The company recently hired a third party organization to investigate both issues and also compensated both the customers.

The company doubt it’s a manufacturing issue and more to do with perticular device. Let’s hope it stays that way as this startup’s valuation is already marked down by some investors and they just can’t afford any bad word of mouth at this time.
