Xiaomi Mi 6 Launched, Ditches the Headphone Jack
Xiaomi has officially launched it’s flagship for 201, the Mi 6. While the S8 is being launched in India, Xiaomi took the wraps off the Mi 5 successor. The Mi 6 has been highly anticipated and is among the few early devices to sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset.
The smartphone comes with a 5.15-inch Full HD display that Xiaomi has retained from the predecessor. Under the hood, as expected, there is Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and the phone has variants based on the storage and RAM. It is the 10nm chipset, the first in the world, with the 64-bit architecture and also has the Adreno 540 GPU. Along with it is the 6GB LPDDR4X RAM.
The device features a dual camera setup on the back, the setup comprises of two 12MP cameras, one being a wide angle one and the other a tele similar to the Apple iPhone 7 Plus – there’s a Portrait Mode too. It also features four sided 3D curved glass and stainless steel outlining.
There are pros and cons on the audio front. The upside is that the Mi 6 offers stereo speakers located at the front of the device, a welcome addition. However, the phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm jack, a surprising omission considering Xiaomi makes a lot of affordable audio products that use the standard headphone jack. There’s a large 3,350mAh battery inside the Mi 6.
